Accessibility

CCAIRE is committed to learning that is usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

Our commitment and standards

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we are guided by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the federal Accessible Canada Act, and comparable provincial accessibility legislation.

What we do

  • Use clear, plain-language writing and meaningful heading structure.
  • Maintain readable text sizes and sufficient colour contrast.
  • Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Support keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
  • Label form fields and describe errors in text, not colour alone.
  • Design responsively so content works on a range of devices and zoom levels.

Accommodation for programs and resources

As our programs launch, we will provide accommodation on request, which may include accessible documents, captioning or transcripts for recorded sessions, alternate formats, and additional time or flexible participation options. Requests are handled confidentially and without cost to the participant.

Known limitations

CCAIRE is in its founding stage, and some materials or third-party tools we reference may not yet meet our accessibility goals. We treat accessibility as ongoing work and prioritize fixes as we learn about barriers.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier on this site or in our materials, please tell us through the contact form on our home page. Describe the page and the difficulty you experienced, and we will acknowledge your feedback and work to provide the information in an accessible way.
